ARCHITECTURE SEAL

Architecture complete is not implementation complete.

Architecture complete means

  • major component boundaries
  • interfaces
  • authority
  • memory architecture
  • development path
  • compatibility rules
  • negative constraints

It does not mean

  • all software exists
  • all models are trained
  • all benchmarks pass
  • all hardware exists
  • the system is empirically validated
  • production deployment is complete

THE BUILD PRINCIPLE

CONVENTIONAL BASELINE FIRST.

The cognitive architecture must be buildable on ordinary compute. Experimental compute is optional. If an accelerator fails to demonstrate value, the baseline organism still works.

U0–U7 complete the conventional baseline.

Conventional organism trunk from U0 to U7, then optional experimental branches U8 to U12. Optional stages are not a mandatory sequential chain.

CONVENTIONAL ORGANISM TRUNK

  1. U0

    CONTRACT FREEZE

    • architecture
    • canonical IDs
    • schemas
    • authority
    • compatibility aliases
    • negative fixtures

No model training is required to pass U0.

  2. U1

    RUNTIME KERNEL

    • process isolation
    • grants
    • policy
    • traces
    • health
    • checkpoints
    • Action gateway
  3. U2

    PREDICTIVE CORTEX FABRIC

    • PCF
    • payload references
    • sparse communication
    • activation
    • temporary coalitions
  4. U3

    EVIDENCE & MEMORY

    • Evidence Library
    • M0–M7 memory ecology
    • memory governance
    • provenance
    • retention / consolidation mechanisms
  5. U4

    LANGUAGE & REPRESENTATION

    • GPT-U
    • RPL-IR
    • codec registry
    • communication interfaces

Language is not the whole cognitive system.

  6. U5

    REASONING & PLANNING

    • reasoning
    • constraint processing
    • planning
    • scenario generation
    • decision-support pathways

Planning still does not own external action authority.

  7. U6

    PERCEPTION & WORLD

    • perception
    • world-model integration
    • temporal state
    • uncertainty
    • observation interfaces
  8. U7

    DEVELOPMENT

    • self-model continuity
    • relationships
    • plasticity
    • skill development
    • consolidation
    • automaticity
    • homeostasis
    • governed self-modification

At this point the conventional-compute baseline is structurally complete according to the roadmap. This is not a claim of empirically validated general intelligence.

OPTIONAL EXPERIMENTAL BRANCHES

U8–U12 are optional experimental branches. They are not prerequisites for U0–U7 cognition, and they are not a mandatory sequential chain.

  • U8 · OPTIONAL

    E8 EXPERIMENTAL MEMORY / REPRESENTATION

    • optional E8 codec / index research

    Must fail independently.

  • U9 · OPTIONAL

    QTI / QPU

    • optional quantum / alternative-compute acceleration
  • U10 · OPTIONAL

    RHU / RPCI

    • optional experimental resonant / hybrid compute interfaces
  • U11 · OPTIONAL

    EMBODIMENT

    • simulator-first embodied integration
    • shadow
    • human-in-loop
    • physical systems
  • U12 · OPTIONAL

    MEASURED SUBSTRATE MIGRATION

    • advantage
    • parity where required
    • correctness
    • rollback capability

Move components to alternative hardware only when measurement demonstrates the case. No speculative migration by ideology.

BUILD GATES

Progress through evidence, not optimism.

  1. CONTRACT

Does the component satisfy its interface?

  2. CORRECTNESS

    Does it behave as specified?

  3. ISOLATION

    Can failure remain bounded?

  4. AUTHORITY

    Can it exceed permitted power?

  5. MEMORY

Does it preserve provenance and continuity?

  6. REGRESSION

Did new capability break previous capability?

  7. BENCHMARK

Does it improve relevant measured behaviour?

  8. ROLLBACK

Can it safely return to a known-good state?

DEVELOPMENTAL TRAINING

The system is not intended to appear fully formed.

Training and development can progress through increasing competence. This is not a claim that child development is literally reproduced, and no training schedule is published here.

  • basic capability
  • integration
  • increasing complexity
  • social interaction
  • memory continuity
  • tool competence
  • world understanding
  • self-model
  • governed adaptation
